Look at AI as Energy — not a Weapon or a Tool
Over the weekend , I was interacting with a group of students at an academy recently. Really bright and curious minds .. full of energy. But almost every conversation started the same way -- “I want to work on Agentic AI .. LLMs .. machine learning ..” The words were impressive. But something felt missing. It made me think. They were increasingly starting with technology first. Instead of thinking: “What problem am I trying to solve?” AI today feels like a powerful weapon or a tool. Almost like a hammer in the hand with every problem looks like a nail on the wall !! Everyone wants to hold it .. use it .. build with it. But that’s not what it is -- "AI is Energy" - energy doesn’t define purpose .. it amplifies it. - electricity doesn’t tell you what to build .. it powers whatever you decide to create. - the internet didn’t define problems .. it scaled solutions to them. AI is no different. The real starting point is not: - which model should I use? - which framework should I learn? But it is: - which industry am I trying to understand? - what problem exists there? - why does it matter? Because without that , AI becomes noise .. and .. with that , it becomes leverage. Once the problem is clear, everything else follows -- - you choose the right technique - you pick the right model - you design the right system But if you start with the tool , you risk building something impressive but irrelevant. This is especially important for the next generation. Because access to AI is no longer the differentiator. Clarity of problem is. In the coming years, the winners won’t be those who know the most AI jargon. They will be the ones who can say: - I understand this problem deeply and here’s how AI can help solve it.” AI is not the answer .. it is the amplifier. So , use it as energy and not as a weapon. Until next time , happy thinking !!
